    Cultural Arts Committee

The Cultural Arts Committee is geared towards serving the cultural needs of the Temple Israel community. Specifically, the committee stages events at the Temple that involve music, art, drama, dance, and literature, and frequently showcase the talents of Temple members.

Two particular events the Committee helps to organize are the annual Purim Schpiel musical, as well as an annual Spring-time concert sponsored by the Sandra Gamm Memorial Fund for Music and the Creative Arts.

Jewish Family Entertainer is Centerpiece of Event Including Food, Games and Camp Fair

Temple Israel of Sharon and the Sandra Gamm Memorial Fund for Music and Cultural Arts proudly present a Family Hanukkah Celebration featuring Rick Recht in Concert, on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 10:15 am at Temple Israel, 125 Pond Street, Sharon.

Following the concert by Rick Recht, the celebration continues with food, Hanukkah games, and a camp fair staffed by popular, accredited Jewish overnight camps. The concert also celebrates Temple Israel’s Hertz Nursery School’s 25th Anniversary and will include participation by Temple Israel’s youth community and Junior Chorale.

The centerpiece of the Family Hanukkah Celebration is Rick Recht, the top-touring musician in Jewish music playing over 150 concerts a year in the United States and abroad. Recht is widely recognized for his appeal to youth and family audiences not only as an exceptional musician, singer/songwriter, and entertainer, but also as a role model for involvement in Jewish life. He has become an icon for Jewish youth in the United States, elevating the medium of Jewish music as a powerful and effective tool for developing Jewish pride and identity among the masses.

Pricing for reservations made by December 1st is $5 for adults and children 13 and over, and free for children under 13. After December 1st and at the door, admission is $10 for adults and children 13 and over, and free for children under 13. Concert patrons also are invited to support the Sandra Gamm Memorial Fund as Friends of the Fund at $36 (includes two Preferred Section seats and Friends listing in the concert program; extra seats $5 each and children under 13 free.)

For more information and reservations, please email CulturalArts@tisharon.org or call 781-784-3986 ext. 43.
