Alisa Levine, Family Educator

Alisa joined the staff of Temple Israel the summer of 2007 as part of the newly formed Education Team. In her role as “Family Educator Gan - Zayin”, Alisa is responsible for all classroom activities and family programs for religious school students in Gan (K) through Zayin (7). Prior to coming to Temple Israel, Alisa spent 2 ½ years as Striar JCC’s Jewish Family Educator and Program Director, and before that, she worked full time at Temple Emunah in Lexington as their Jewish Family Educator for many years. Having met so many wonderful families from the South Area while working at the JCC made the transition to Temple Israel very comfortable and being back in the Conservative synagogue setting has felt like coming home!

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Alisa always felt a strong connection to synagogue life, Israel, and the greater Jewish community. A graduate of Brandeis University, Alisa went on to earn a Masters Degree in Jewish Education and a Certificate in Jewish Family Education from Hebrew College in Newton. With a passion for art, travel, reading, family and all things Jewish, Alisa lives in Needham and most enjoys just spending time together with her husband Glenn, daughter Rozzie, and son Avi.
