Volunteer With TeamOps at Gillette Stadium!Temple Israel will be participating in the Gillette Stadium TeamOps program. That means that the Temple has agreed to provide volunteers to work at certain Gillette Stadium events. We have no minimum quota, nor any maximum cap, on the number of volunteers we provide. We do, however, have to deliver on the number of volunteers we promise! And the bottom line is this: The MORE volunteers we provide, the MORE money the Temple receives for our efforts. If you have friends who are not members of Temple Israel who would like to volunteer with you, you can sign them up We will be volunteering at Patriots football games and Gillette Stadium music concerts; we will not be working any of the Boston College football games since they take place on Shabbat. TeamOps volunteers are not used for Revolution soccer games. In our role at Gillette, we will most likely be serving as ticket-takers and/or ushers. No heavy lifting, mentally or physically. For the most part, Temple Israel volunteers will work in the same general area. We might, however, be able to position some of our volunteers in certain indoor locations. You provide your own transportation to Gillette, but parking (in the employee area) is available free of charge. You needs to arrive 4 hours prior to event time in order to check in, receive Gillette Stadium staff clothing & equipment (walkie talkies, etc.), meet your supervisor, and receive instructions as to your responsibilities. Once you sign up for a specific event, you will receive further information about check-in procedures. A typical concert shift runs 7 hours, a football game 8.5 hours, a music festival 12 hours. Every hour means money for the Temple. There is a dress code requirement and it is enforced. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. If you have a post-high school or post-college adult child living at home (or nearby, or home on vacation) who would like to volunteer, encourage them to do so! Please read the Volunteer Guidelines. How to Sign UpApproximately three weeks prior to each event, TeamOps will ask Debra Lefkowitz to recruit volunteers. She will immediately send a sign-up notice to everyone on her email distribution list. Those of you choosing to work a specific event will then respond within the period of time specified (preferably ASAP). She, in turn, will notify the TeamOps folks at Gillette with the total number of Temple Israel volunteers that we will provide. Your response is a commitment. Please do your utmost to honor it. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email Debra at debra1222@comcast.net.
