Bar/Bat Mitzvah Guide:
THREE - Workshops And Programs With the Clergy and Education Director

Our clergy are available to you to answer any questions you may have about Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

Periodically during the year of the simha, we conduct workshops and programs for Bar/Bat Mitzvahcandidates and their parents. The dates of these workshops will be announced in advance and each family will be expected to attend. Generally, the workshops will be conducted on Sunday mornings. Tallit andtefillin may be needed on those occasions.

These workshops will provide you the opportunity, along with a number of other families whose Bar/Bat Mitzvah dates cluster around yours, to share with your children and with each other the traditions that center around becoming a Jewish adult. This is a particularly appropriate time for a discussion of issues pertinent to teens and their parents. These occasions also provide forums for B'nai Mitzvah families to develop closer relationships.

During the week before your simha, you will meet with our clergy (please arrange a mutually convenient time) to discuss any final details. At that meeting, please have prepared a list of all those whom you wish to honor on the Ritual Honors form.
