The Torah Fund Mission
To give every person an opportunity to participate in preserving, promoting and perpetuating Conservative/Masorti Judaism through active giving to the Torah Fund Campaign of Women's League for Conservative Judaism in support of The Jewish Theological Seminary, Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, and the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies.
The Torah Fund Campaign is devoted to supporting the four educational institutes of the Conservative/Masorti Movements, as well as to support and enrich the lives of students while they are receiving their education.
Scholarships to students help offset the high costs of attending these fine institutions. In 2014-15, at JTS tuition ranged from $18,460 to $33,520, depending on the program. At the Ziegler School tuition was $40,000. Living costs range from $22,900 to $24,400 depending on location, life situation. Total cost to the student to attend can be up to $66,900 per year. Additionally, the actual cost for the school to educate each student is much higher than tuition received. Money raised by Torah Fund supports both students and their school.
