Keruv: a welcoming initiative for interfaith families
Keruv means "Becoming Close"
Temple Israel warmly welcomes individuals who were born Jewish, who have chosen Judaism, or those who are part of a Jewish couple or a Jewish family. Interfaith couples and families are part of our congregation, reflecting the diversity of an ever-widening variety of people committed to or interested in Jewish life. We seek to address the needs of these families, helping to ensure that our synagogue community is welcoming to all and providing resources to strengthen both family and Jewish life.
We want to meet people where they are in their lives and encourage Jewish living through participation in the life of Temple Israel. Interfaith couples are encouraged to learn about our congregation and participate in our synagogue community. From life-cycle events to classes and services, those who are not Jewish will find a full range of opportunities in which to partake. We want families to experience firsthand the rich, diverse, and compelling programming we offer, as well as experience the warmth of our members, staff, and full community.
