Adult and Family Education Committee
Our committee is dedicated to serving YOU, our fellow congregants. For this new year, we have prepared a rich feast of delightful programs and opportunities to enhance your Jewish journey and build our sacred community. Behind the scenes, our committee has been busy creating an interesting menu filled with your favorite recipes and new “specialties of the house” to satisfy your hunger for greater learning, connection, spirituality, fellowship and fun!

- TI Reads Discussions 11/14 7:45-9:15 p.m. with Marjie Maidman: A Pigeon and a Boy by Meir Shalev, an award winning book by one of Israel's most celebrated novelists. <

- Hessed Healing Prayer Service with Rabbi Leslie Gordon 11/7, 6:20-7:30 p.m. A special creative prayer service designed for comforting congregants who are bereaved or having emotional or medical challenges as well and those wishing to offer prayers of healing for others. Co-sponsored with Hessed Committee.
- 7th Grade Father/Son Book Club: 9-11 a.m.: 11/14, 12/12, Youth Lounge 7-9 p.m. 1/9 private home, pizza & discussion. Book: The Chosen by Chaim Potok
- 6th Grade Father/Son Book Club: 9-11 a.m.: 3 Sunday sessions in Winter/Spring in Youth Lounge, TBA Book: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
- Demystifying Shabbat with Rabbi Starr and Cantor Dress. Become more familiar with Shabbat morning prayers and practices in a relaxed, interactive setting. 10:30-12 noon: 12/11, 1/8, 2/12, 3/12, 4/19. Babysitting available.
- Tiferet Meditation Group with Rabbi Sendor and other teachers, 12/2 & 12/9.(tentatively).

DESSERT
- Tiferet Interactive Torah Study with Rabbi Allan Ulman, a warm and engaging teacher who helps participants find relevance for their personal lives (appropriate for the curious as well as Torah scholars). Topic: “Insights on Healing the Soul Drawn From Readings from Torah, Prophetic Writings and Psalms. Sunday 11/7 3:15-4:15 p.m., Thursdays 11/11 & 11/18, 7:45-9:15 p.m. $10 members/$15 nonmembers/$5 seniors - per class.
