Printable PDF of the TI Welcoming words.

Welcoming you to TI with a smileAfter a smile and words of greeting, our thoughtful use of language is our best tool in making Temple Israel the kind of place people want to be. Welcoming Words are, in general, words that we want all Temple Israel members to recognize. The flip side of having the Welcoming Words is that all other Hebrew and Yiddish words should be translated, either directly or contextually, in announcements, at meetings, and in learning contexts. All members can get a printed copy of the Welcoming Words for review, or you will be able to print it from this website.

The boxes in the left hand menu allow you to filter what items are displayed. Initially, just the "Welcoming Words" are displayed. To see the entire literacy list, click on "additional words". The categories sometimes overlap, but they also filter the list; you can click as many categories as you want. You can sort the list by clicking on the column headers. If you click on a bolded term, you can see a much fuller definition.
