Slavery, Jim Crow, and mass incarceration are all iterations of the same black oppression that have existed since the founding of our nation. This documentary confronts our country’s history of racial inequality, and how that has led to a disproportionate amount of black Americans in our prison systems today.
Please view the documentary (available on Netflix) in advance of the session so we can spend our time together discussing the content.
