Born in Framingham, MA, Abby Newman Wallach grew up in a suburb of Orlando, FL. She was greatly involved in her synagogue, participating in USY and Nativ. She spent seven summers as a staff member at Ramah Day Camp in Nyack, and was a counselor at Ramah Israel Seminar.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Florida with a BA in Elementary Education and a BA in Judaic Studies. She then went on to earn her Master's Degree in Elementary Education. 

Abby moved to New York City in 2019 to pursue a career in education at a Jewish day school. She has taught first and fourth grade while also teaching at various Religious Schools around New York City. She has a passion for instilling a love for Jewish identity and tradition as well as teaching ways to connect to Judaism through holidays, song, art, Torah stories, Hebrew, and Israel. 

In her spare time, Abby enjoys traveling, baking, crafting, and hiking. She currently lives in Long Island City, New York with her husband, Adam. They are excited to be visiting Temple Israel!
