Who We Are
Welcome to the award-winning Sisterhood of Temple Israel! We are Not Your Mother's Sisterhood. We laughed so much last year that we changed our theme to Sisterhood Smiles.
Affiliated with the Women's League for Conservative Judaism, who presented our Sisterhood the 2017 Jewels in the Crown Award.
What are the Jewels in the Crown of Women's League? Every sisterhood in in WLCJ network can be a shining jewel when it offers programs that nurture and sustain Jewish life and vitality in their local communities. Sisterhoods who met the criteria of a wide range of activities — those developed and sponsored by Women's League as well as home-grown programs and initiatives — have been acknowledged as the glittering jewels in the Women’s League crown. Temple Israel was recognized as one such Jewel in the Crown! Join us at our programs, events, meetings and find out why!
Be sure to look for your weekly Sisterhood Scoop on Tuesdays for updates and details on our activities. If you're not getting it, please let us know at sisterhood@tisharon.org. If you have friends that might be interested in learning more about our programs, please share their emails with us.
If you would be willing to help out with future Sisterhood events in any way — whether it is something small such as picking up bagels and schmear for brunch or helping in the kitchen, or whether you would like a bigger role doing something like planning and implementing an event — please get in touch with us. We are always available at board meetings, but if you can’t make it to the board meeting, you can always contact Sandy and Ilene by emailing sisterhood@tisharon.org.
